Crafting Beautiful Woodwork

The Good Grain Custom Woodwork is a small family run business based in Moorabbin, Victoria. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I was forced to take extended time off from my construction job. From my  work shop at home I started to make small hardwood pieces to sell to fill in the time. As time went on the smaller items grew to larger items and demand grew. 

For a while I continued to combine my construction job and working on my own projects. After a year or so it became clear that juggling both roles meant sacrificing time with my young family. I knew I couldn't give up my passion for creating beautiful hardwood furniture so I took the plunge and committed to the Good Grain full-time. 

I continue to be inspired by the natural beauty of wood and the satisfaction of creating something that will be cherished for years to come. Knowing that every piece of furniture that leaves the work shop is unique, is the most satisfying part of my job. The natural beauty of hardwood grains means even two identically made pieces look different and feature their own special characteristics.
